Former Sri Lanka Captain Dilshan loses in Parliament election

Former Sri Lanka Cricket Captain Tillakaratne Dilshan has lost his maiden attempt at securing a seat in Parliament from the Kalutara District. The results of the general election are being declared today, in which President Anura Kumara Dissanayake led NPP is heading towards a landslide victory.

Dilshan, once a SLPP, then SJB supporter had jumped to United Democratic Voice, the political party of actor-turned-politician Ranjan Ramanayake.

Interestingly, Dilshan was migrated to Australia and tried to make a career in coaching, by doing one by one assignments In Melbourne! Then, six months ago, he returned to Sri Lanka with a goal to fit himself in a top coaching assignment. According to experts, through political victory, he was eyeing a big role in cricket.

However, as his political dreams have crashed now, Dilshan is likely to return back to Australia.
