Jasprit Bumrah available for Mumbai’s next fixture, confirms Mahela Jayawardene

India and Mumbai Indians (MI) fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has regained fitness and will be available for selection for the team’s next fixture against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), confirmed head coach Mahela Jayawardene on Sunday, April 6.MI are set to take on RCB in their fifth fixture on Monday, April 7 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Ahead of the game, MI released a special video for Bumrah, revealing that the speedster has joined the squad after successfully completing rehabilitation at the Centre of Excellence (COE) in Bengaluru. In a major update on his availability, Jayawardene revealed that the fast bowler is fit and is available for selection for their upcoming fixture.

“He’s available, he’s training today, and should be available [for the RCB game]. He arrived last night. He had his sessions with NCA [now Centre of Excellence] to finalise that, he’s been handed over to our physios. He’s bowling today, so all good,” Jaywardene said in the pre-match press conference.

Bumrah had been out of action since the fifth Test against Australia in Sydney, where he had to stop bowling midway through the first innings and was taken to the hospital for scans. The speedster was subsequently ruled out of the ODI and T20I series against England and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
