Commentator Harsha Bhogle breaks silence on missing KKR games amid controversy

Star commentator Harsha Bhogle has said that inappropriate conclusions are being drawn on his absence from the Kolkata Knight Riders vs Gujarat Titans game on Monday at the Eden Gardens, reiterating that the match was not on his roster and hence he didn’t travel.

Reports had surfaced claiming that the Cricket Association of Bengal has asked Bhogle and Simon Doull to be kept away from the Eden Gardens after their criticism of the pitch curator after the first game of the season.

Bhogle’s clarification came a day after CAB’s letter to BCCI, sent about 10 days ago by its secretary Naresh Ojha, was revealed in media reports.

“Some inappropriate conclusions are being drawn about why I wasn’t at yesterday’s game in Kolkata. Quite simply, it wasn’t on the list of matches I was down to do! Asking me would have resolved the issue,” Bhogle tweeted on Tuesday morning.

“Rosters are done before the tournament starts. I was rostered for two games in Kolkata. I was there for the first, and an illness in the family prevented me from being at the 2nd,” Bhogle added.
