The much awaited biopic on one of India’s greatest cricketers and 1983 World Cup winning captain, Kapil Dev titled ’83 will be releasing on August 30 next year which has Ranveer Singh in the lead role and is being directed by Kabir Khan.
“Mark your calendar! ‘83 will be releasing on August 30th, 2019. ‘83 stars Ranveer Singh. Directed by Kabir Khan (sic),” the film’s official Twitter handle made the announcement.
The official announcement for the biopic’s release was made in September last year, but reports suggest the film is not expected to go on floors till mid-2018. Kabir Khan was earlier quoted as saying by PTI, “As a young schoolboy when I watched India win the 1983 Cricket World Cup. I had no idea that from that day onwards cricket in India will change forever.”
