Sri Lanka’s dashing left-hander Kusal Perera could be included into the Sunrisers Hyderabad Squad for the 11th Edition Of Indian Premier League (IPL). SunRisers Hyderabad team management has approached Perera as a possible replacement for Banned David Warner, however deal is yet to be finalised.
Earlier today, The BCCI terminated David Warner and Steve Smith participation in this year’s IPL, after both were banned for a year by Cricket Australia, after the investigation, which suggest both were the Prime culprits of the ball tempering incident.
“Yes We have approached Kusal Perera as a replacement for Warner. Like Warner, he is also a devastating batsman and our analyst informed us that he has been in tremendous form in last few months. Though nothing has finalized as yet, we are hopeful Perera will join our squad” a official of Sunrisers Hyderabad told Cricket Age.
Perera, 27, has been considered as one of the most destructive batsman in the world cricket, especially in T20 cricket. He was the highest run scorer in recently concluded Nidahas trophy, where he smashed three half centuries in four matches. In all, he has played 34 T20Is so far, and have smashed 10 half centuries, with a strike rate of 137.
He played for the Rajasthan Royals during the early part of his career and opened the innings with Ajinkya Rahane.
