Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) president Thilanga Sumathipala accused Muttiah Muralitharan of forgetting his past, as he launched a counter attack against the legendary off spinner during the press conference at SLC headquarter on Friday.
The SLC president further claimed that he his administration rescued Muralitharan several times in past, during his troublesome career.
“Muralitharan has forgotten his history, he was advised by wrong persons even we have rescued him few times” Sumathipala claimed during the press conference.
On April 18th, the greatest bowler of world cricket, Muralithran said in a interview to Indian media that certain politicians have destroyed the game in the country.
“To tell you the truth Sri Lankan cricket is currently in a mess. Politicians have taken over the running of the game and with little or no knowledge of the game they are destroying the institution with every passing day” Muralitharan told to a leading Indian media group.
After the retirement, the legend has been associated with IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad as bowling coach.
